Commercial Work Table with Wire Undershelf — 1200 × 600 mm Stainless Steel Workstation

This commercial work table pairs a 304 stainless steel worktop with a modular wire-shelving frame: stainless where food is handled, galvanised steel underneath, and a 250 kg (550 lb) wire shelf that clips onto φ25 mm posts at any height without tools. The standard build measures 1200 × 600 mm with a 900 mm working height; tops are also produced from 350 mm to 2000 mm long and 350 mm to 900 mm deep.

Why buyers specify this stainless steel work table

Six decisions shape this table: the grade of the worktop, the way the shelf height is set, where stainless steel is spent, how far the frame can be reconfigured, the load each shelf carries, and how the unit is moved. Each is listed below as feature, advantage and the benefit your kitchen or warehouse actually sees.

304 stainless steel worktop

Feature A 304 (18/8-grade) stainless steel top with a smooth, non-porous surface.

Advantage Resists staining and corrosion from sauces, vinegar, citrus and daily sanitiser contact.

Benefit Wipes clean in one pass, so the surface still passes the hygiene walk-through after a year of service.

Tool-free clip assembly

Feature Black clips snap onto the posts at the height you choose and the shelf drops into place.

Advantage Shelf heights change in seconds, with no drilling, welding or technician on site.

Benefit You re-plan a prep line on a Sunday night and it is working by Monday service.

Stainless where it counts, steel where it does not

Feature 304 stainless worktop combined with a galvanised, clear-coated steel frame.

Advantage The higher-cost alloy is limited to the food-contact surface.

Benefit All-stainless strength at a lower unit cost — the difference goes into your margin.

One frame, many configurations

Feature 32 standard wire shelf sizes, 40 reinforced sizes, 9 baskets and 17 post lengths share the same frame.

Advantage Shelves, baskets, triangle shelves and hooks all mount on the same φ25 mm posts.

Benefit Stock one platform and rebuild it as prep, storage or display — fewer SKUs in your catalogue.

Load ratings you can plan around

Feature 250 kg (550 lb) per standard wire shelf, 350 kg (800 lb) per reinforced shelf.

Advantage The rating is carried by the post-and-clip joint, not by a thin sheet of steel.

Benefit Bulk ingredient bags, full gastronorm pans and stacked crockery sit level without sag.

Mobile or fixed, same frame

Feature Braked swivel casters or adjustable levelling feet on the same four posts.

Advantage The base is swapped without touching the worktop or the shelf positions.

Benefit Roll it into the service line, brake it, and it stays exactly where you left it.

Work table dimensions and standard sizes

The standard build is 1200 mm long × 600 mm deep × 900 mm high, with one wire shelf whose position you set with the clips. Worktops run from 350 mm to 2000 mm long and 350 mm to 900 mm deep, so the same frame covers a one-person prep station and a double-sided pass-through bench.

Everything below is what the factory builds against. If a value you need is missing — worktop thickness for a particular size, or the load figure for a basket configuration — ask and you will get it in writing before the order is placed.

Frame, wire shelf and post details

Heavy duty stainless steel work tables are decided by three joints: where the top meets the post, how the wire is welded, and how the clip grips. Here is what each looks like on this unit.

Post, clip and shelf joint — the three parts that carry the load rating.

Welded wire grid

25 mm pitch on standard shelves, 20 mm on reinforced shelves, so small items and bottles stand upright without tipping through.

Clip-and-post joint

Each clip wraps the full φ25 mm post and locks the shelf at the level you set; no bolt works loose over time.

Detachable build

Every unit breaks down flat for shipping, storage and relocation, then goes back together with the same clips.

Tool-free assembly in four steps

A complete table goes together in minutes with no tools. The same four steps apply whether you are building one sample or a hundred units on site.

1

Stand the posts

Fit the four φ25 mm posts into the casters or levelling feet and stand the frame upright.

2

Set the clips

Snap a black clip onto each post at the height you want the underside shelf.

3

Drop in the shelf

Lower the wire shelf onto the four clips; the clips lock it without bolts.

4

Fit the worktop

Place the stainless worktop on the top clips and press down until seated.

Where this commercial work bench works best

The same platform fits four very different rooms. What changes between them is the top size, the number of shelves and the base — not the frame.

Restaurant and hotel kitchens

A 1200 × 600 mm prep table with a lower wire shelf for bowls, trays and dry goods keeps the pass clear during service.

Bars and beverage stations

Add a wire basket and hooks to the posts for glassware, straws and bar tools without taking worktop space.

Warehouses and workshops

Braked casters turn the bench into a mobile packing or assembly station that locks in place when loaded.

Clinics and laboratories

A smooth, non-porous stainless surface wipes down between procedures; open wire shelves stay visible for stock checks.

Installation guide and technical downloads

Buyers, installers and spec writers usually need three documents before the first order: the assembly sequence, the drawing with cut-out and clearance dimensions, and the standard size list. Ask for the set and it comes back as PDF and DWG files.

FAQs about this stainless steel work table with undershelf

The questions buyers ask most often before they place a first order.

What sizes can this work table be ordered in?

Worktops are produced from 350 mm to 2000 mm long and 350 mm to 900 mm deep; the standard build is 1200 × 600 mm. Wire shelves come in 32 standard sizes (305–1830 mm long), reinforced shelves in 40 sizes, and posts in 17 lengths from 152 mm to 2438 mm. Any size outside the list can be quoted from your drawing or the standard size reference.

How much weight does the wire shelf hold?

250 kg (550 lb) per standard wire shelf and 350 kg (800 lb) per reinforced shelf, evenly distributed. The rating is per shelf and is carried by the post-and-clip joint, so load it shelf by shelf rather than treating the whole unit as one rating.

Do I need tools to change the shelf height?

No. Black clips snap onto the φ25 mm posts at the height you choose and the shelf drops in. The whole table is detachable, so it also comes apart for shipping, storage or moving between sites.

The worktop is stainless but the frame is galvanised steel. Will the frame rust?

The 304 worktop is the food-contact surface and is the part that resists acids, sauces and sanitiser. The frame is galvanised and clear-coated for indoor use in kitchens, workshops and warehouses; it should not be cut, drilled or left wet. If the unit will be hosed down daily or sit in a humid wash-down room, order the all-stainless version instead — tell us the environment and we will quote the right build.

What is the minimum order, lead time and OEM policy?

MOQ is 300 pcs, lead time 40 days, and OEM/ODM is accepted with your logo and specification. Samples can be supplied with sample and freight cost borne by the buyer. Cartons measure 1270 × 625 × 130 mm, with 649 cartons per 40'HQ or 262 per 20'GP.
